"Westlake Films: 10 Years"

In 2006 we celebrated 10 years of making films together with this short reel of clips from all of our films to date.
The trailer was used to promote Westlake Films on the website as well as at film shows. It is set to the music "Alpha Male" by Royksopp.
 "The Clever Men at Oxford"

Westlake were tasked with creating an introductory video for a science conference at Oxford university on the theme of famous Oxford alumni. Gareth Preston and Kevin Hiley began trawling through DVDs and the Internet gathering images and checking through biographies for candidates to feature. This short film is set to the music of Geoffrey Burgeon.

As a surprise for a Christmas Party, John and Amy edited together a fabulous video to accompany the wonderful Belgian Jazz piece "Dr Qui" by comedian Bill Bailey.

Conservatives in Coalition Podcasts

A series of five podcasts created for the Political Studies Association - Conservatism Specialist Group. Dr Hayton interviews academics asking for views and analysis on the Conservatives in coalition with the Liberal Democrats during the 2010-2015 government. Not Westlake's first foray into educational film-making but certainly the most demanding, using a multi-camera set up on a tight time schedule.

Three costumed fans wait on a rain-soaked platform for a train that may never arrive and assess their place in life.
Based on the classic 60s comedy sketch by John Cleese, Ronnie Barker and Ronnie Corbett about the British Class system, Westlake take a comical look at what the fans of different scifis think of one another!

The Bruises of Gareth Preston

This video is a short collection of some of the bruises inflicted upon Gareth during our long years as film makers. He gets punched, kicked, whipped, hit by sticks, humiliated and tormented all for the love of film-making. So, we pay tribute to Gareth now, and honour his pain for all our pleasures.

A killer has broken out of the local park prison and is on the prowl. A nationwide search has not been able to find the criminal, so an emergency broadcast is made to the nation.

This short comedy sketch was made as our entry for the Chairmans Challenge at the Huddersfield Video and Cine Club in 2006. Enjoy!

John Isles and Amy Tredgett were married at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on August 12th 2006. It was a beautiful day and a number of John and Amy's closest friends were able to attend.

Beauforts Babblings

Jonathan Miles looks back on his years in fandom making audio and video productions. He reminisces about starting out with low quality audio Doctor Who stories and learning step by step to make ever better productions. He also interviews Lisa Hiley, Westlake's long standing costume designer without whom most of our films would have been impossible to make.

Josh takes an energetic stroll along the promenade in Southport musing on the differences between war depicted in computer games as opposed to real life.
